Khartoum, November 22, 2022 (SUNA) – The activities of the National Weightlifting and Swimming Championship for people with intellectual disabilities, organized by the Sudanese Special Olympics, were concluded this evening at the Nile International Club in Khartoum, sponsored by the Engineers Hall and the Nile International Club in Khartoum.
Eight (8) states participated in the tournament, namely Khartoum, Gezira, Red Sea, North Kordofan, Gedaref, Sennar, White Nile and River Nile. The closing ceremony was honored by Professor Ruqaya Al-Sayed, President of the Sudanese Special Olympics, Dr. Yasser Mohamed Musa, National Director of the Sudanese Special Olympics, Professor Hamad Al-Junaibi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, a representative of the National Security and Intelligence Service, a representative of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Nile Club International Board of Directors, and a number of personalities interested in the segment of the intellectually disabled. Along with mothers and fathers.
For his part, the National Director, Dr. Yasser welcomes the guests of honor and touches on the participation in the Olympics competitions in the Emirates and Cairo, praising the cooperation of the Emirati ambassador in Khartoum and his interest in the Sudanese champions. While Ambassador Al-Junaibi affirmed the depth of diplomatic relations between the two brotherly peoples, praising the heroes, stressing his standing with the Sudanese Special Olympics champions.
At the end of the program, the winners were crowned with gold, silver and bronze medals, and a number of personalities, coaches, referees and media professionals were honored, and the management of the Nile International Club and the Engineers Hall were honored.
