El Fasher 11-21-2022 (SUNA) – The Qatar Red Crescent, in cooperation with the Voluntary Return Commission, inaugurated today in the city of El-Fasher the activities of the Qatar World Cup initiative, which aims to convey the joy of the World Cup to the displaced communities, refugees and vulnerable groups, by providing free viewing of the World Cup matches.
It is an initiative that brings together the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar Fund for Development, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Qatar Red Crescent, Qatar Charity and BN Sport channels. The ceremony was honored by Mr. Issa Zarrouk, representative of the Wali of North Darfur State, Secretary General of the state, Mr. Tajuddin Ibrahim, Commissioner of Voluntary Return, and Mr. Mohamed Suleiman Jibril, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in North Darfur State. Mr. Mohamed Thabet Mohamed Safi, Head of the Qatar Red Crescent Office in Sudan, Mira, said that the initiative that came under the slogan Qatar 2022 is a joy for all, in line with the role of the Qatar Red Crescent and its mission to support vulnerable groups of refugees and displaced persons and alleviate their suffering…
The ceremony included a variety of activities, including a football match between the Zamzam camp team and the Abu Shouk camp for the displaced, and popular dances that found a great response from the large audience, which reflects the success of the initiative, its importance and its positive impact on the people of the state in general, the displaced groups and the rest of the society.
