Khartoum 11-22-2022 AD (SUNA) – The Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General * Muhammad Hamdan Daglo * stressed the importance of the intelligence services, as the tip of the spear in the early detection of threats, and taking the necessary measures, to limit them and besiege their effects, and added that what is happening to them is Great responsibilities, which requires specific preparation and training for its employees, and arming them with the latest technologies to confront the challenges of terrorism, human trafficking, illegal immigration, arms smuggling, and other transient crimes, which require cooperation and coordination between the countries of the region and the world.
In his speech before the closing session of the meetings of the security and intelligence services of the Lakes region at the Academy of Security and Strategic Studies in Soba this evening, the Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council stated that the tremendous development witnessed by the world has made challenges transcendent to countries and continents, adding that no country can work alone in isolation from other countries. , stressing the importance of cooperation and coordination to take note of all threats and determine the appropriate measures that can be taken to remove the specter of these threats from the maritime region in particular, and the African continent in general. And he stated that everyone is aware of the magnitude of the challenges at all levels, local, regional and international, which have a direct impact on societies in the region.
He said that these joint sessions represented a good opportunity to reach results that would enable the Lakes region to besiege the problems and obstacles surrounding it, in order to achieve common goals.
He added, “We count on you a lot and trust in your capabilities, and we look forward to doubling work, intensifying joint effort and cooperation, exchanging experiences and information, and addressing together any dangers that threaten the peoples of the region and the region.”
The Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council affirmed that the great challenges facing Sudan require the cooperation and solidarity of its people in order to address and overcome them through agreement between all Sudanese, leading to free and fair elections, pointing to the capabilities and resources that Sudan abounds in, which must be optimally exploited.
Lieutenant General Daglo expressed his thanks and appreciation to the directors of the intelligence services participating in these meetings, for coming to their second homeland, Sudan, to discuss the issues of the region, and to reach results that provide a better life for citizens in the countries of the region.
