Alfasher 11-16-2022 (SUNA) – The head of the Supreme Council for Culture and Information in North, North Darfur State, Dr. Zakaria Adam Mohamed Al-Rasheed, inaugurated yesterday evening, at the Martyr’s Playgrounds Complex in El-Fasher, the “Qaryaf” festival for performing arts, which was organized by the Noor Cultural Center, with the participation and presence of a large number of teams. Musical artists, media professionals, journalists and those interested in cultural, media and heritage affairs, under the slogan “Arts Make Peace”. Addressing the festival, the head of the Supreme Council for Culture and Information in the state affirmed that the state government is continuing to support and promote the cultural movement in the state by implementing the plan prepared by the council to revive and develop all cultural activities, and support the devices and mechanisms of cultural and media work, revealing that the council’s plan includes the establishment of a fund to support cultural activities. Dr. Al-Rasheed praised the Noor Cultural Center for organizing the “Qurayaf” festival, which he said will contribute clearly to achieving cultural communication, stressing the support of the Supreme Council for Culture and Information and its support for the center and all cultural groups in the state to continue advancing the process of cultural work in the state. For her part, the Director of the Nour Cultural Center, Ikram Youssef Rabeh, congratulated the Director of the Cultural Sector on the occasion of the launch of the first edition of the “Qaryaf” festival, which she said contains a number of axes represented in organizing training workshops that include the presentation of a number of scientific papers on various forms of cultural work, in addition to presenting Artistic, dramatic and theatrical works.
Rabah confirmed that the festival’s programs will continue to be implemented until its episodes are completed according to the set plan, announcing that the festival’s activities will move outside the city of El Fasher to include localities, villages, al-Furqan and camps for the displaced. In his opening speech, the head of the organizing committee of the festival, Muhyiddin Adam Ahmed, reviewed the programs and activities that the festival will include, which he said are taking place with the participation of an estimated number of pioneers of the cultural movement in the state.
It is noteworthy that the opening program of the festival included the presentation of musical performances by artists and bands, sports performances by children of creative butterflies, and other dramatic performances, as these paragraphs focused on translating the festival’s slogan “Arts Make Peace”.
