Khartoum 11-19-2022 (SUNA) The “House of Poetry” in Khartoum has completed its preparations to host and organize the activities of the “Khartoum Festival of Arabic Poetry”, the sixth session, which will start early next December in the Hall of the Ministry of Higher Education.
The Khartoum Festival of Arabic Poetry is the largest literary and cultural event on the map of Arab poetry festivals in Sudan.
It is noteworthy that the first session of the festival was launched at the end of the year (2016), when it witnessed a wide Arab and local participation, which brought together most of the poets in the Arab world and Sudan, and the festival continued its annual convening throughout the previous years.
It should be noted that its past two sessions bore two different titles, “Khartoum Poetry Days” and “The Two Niles Forum for Arabic Poetry” as a philosophy and vision adopted by the organizers of the festival at the end of the Corona pandemic that swept the world, in addition to defining Khartoum for being the source of cultural action and what the land of the two Niles abounds with. From a legacy in terms of poetry, literature and culture.
The festival continued to host poets from the Arab and African countries, in addition to various local participations from the states and the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.
In addition to the main poetry evenings, the festival is witnessing accompanying activities that include a book exhibition and another for pictures that contain the achievements, contributions and participations of the House of Poetry, visits and other programs that will be announced by the organizing committee in the coming days.
